Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle, Killed In Toms River: Prosecutors
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in Toms River, authorities said. In a news release, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said the pedestrian was hit near the intersection of Route 166 and Hilltop Road. The crash happened at around 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1. Toms River police said the crash closed Route 166 between Lomell Lane and Mapletree Road. Child Abuser Sought In Somerset County: Prosecutor
The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Fugitive Task Force Unit is seeking the public's help in finding a 43-year-old man wanted for abusing a child. Joseph Zuziela, Jr. is 5'9", 175 lbs, with black hair and hazel eyes, authorities said. He has tattoos on his left and right arm, authorities said. His last known addresses were in Branchburg and Brooklyn, authorities said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Fugitive Unit at 908-231-7100.

A man was airlifted to the hospital after crashing his pickup in Ocean County, authorities said. Berkeley Township police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Dover Road near the Lacey Township border at around 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 30, the department said in a news release. Services have been finalized for Marcin Bednarz, a 22-year-old paramedic from Bergen County who died in a New York crash on Sunday, April 28. Marcin, a paramedic with the Wallington Fire Department, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Arden Valley Road in Tuxedo, N.Y. at 3:18 p.m., according to a New York State Police report. A toddler who walked alone across a busy Ocean County road was rescued by good Samaritans, authorities said.
