Norwalk High Tops McMahon In Annual Football Matchup

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The Darien High School Blue Wave football team rallied to beat archrival New Canaan Rams for the FCIAC football title, 28-21 in overtime, in a game on Thanksgiving Day at Stamford’s Boyle Stadium.

Darien overcame a 21-0 second-quarter deficit to top New Canaan in the annual holiday matchup. 

The league title is the fifth for Darien, while New Canaan has eight. Darien has won the last three Thanksgiving meetings against New Canaan. 

Both teams will host semifinal games in the CIAC Class L tournament on Saturday, Dec. 6. Darien will be the top No. 1 seed, and New Canaan is seeded at No. 2.

Darien quarterback Timmy Graham was named the FCIAC championship Most Valuable Player, completing 18-of-35 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions.
