Rachel Walsh is one of the top producers among the 1,100 agents companywide and she didnt get to the top of the ladder by chance. A stickler for attention to detail, Rachel excels at devising new ways to build interest in the houses she sells as a Diamond Level award-winning Realtor with William Pitt Sothebys International Realty.
Creativity is one of the keys to Rachels success, and she goes to unusual lengths to make sure her clients homes stand out from others on the market. She regularly hosts events that attract a diverse range of viewers to her listings. Ive organized cocktail parties, holiday shopping bazaars and fundraisers, she says. Shes planning two unique events at her listings soon.
Rachel credits these events with attracting people she otherwise wouldnt reach. You never know who might have a friend looking for a house just like the one Im selling, she says. Its all about expanding the network in the community. And in that community-minded spirit, she prefers to hire local caterers, designers, stagers and florists.
At a recent cocktail party in a $5.5 million new construction home in New Canaan, Rachel enlisted area decorators to furnish or stage - empty rooms so guests could imagine themselves living in the home. The master bedroom suite blew away one guest, a local banker, with its dual his-and-her bathrooms, room-size closets and a cozy sitting room.
The organization that goes into planning an event is nothing compared with how Rachel tackles getting a house ready for market. Thorough preparation is essential for making a home stand out and appeal to the largest number of buyers, she says. Proper regular maintenance will make the job much easier, she says.
