Dalycia Crawford-Jean, 21, Samantha Lynn Crucitti, 23, and Kaera Crawford-Jean, 22, all were charged with fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny. They all posted $250 bonds and will appear in court May 21.
Police were called to the Stop & Shop in the Goodwives Shopping Center at around 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 11 on a report of a shoplifting. When police arrived, they found store personnel had detained the three women, who had been watched moving around the store and placing items in carts, according to police reports. Police said Crucitti acted as a lookout while the other two had walked out with two shopping carts full of items.
They were intercepted by employees, and said they had attempted to pay with the Stop & Shop app, which the store does not offer, police said.
When police spoke to the suspects, police said the Crawford-Jean sisters admitted they had set out to steal the items, and Crucitti was aware of the plan and had acted as a lookout. Crucitti initially said she had forgot her purse in Norwalk, but admitted to placing items in the cart, according to police reports.
The items they attempted to steal were worth a total of $729, police said.
