NORWALK, Conn. — Connecticut State Police have taken over the investigation in to a Norwalk Police pursuit that ended in a crash and a fatality Thursday morning, police said.
The state attorney’s office requested, in consultation with Norwalk Chief Thomas Kulhawik, that state police assume the investigation of the fatal car crash at 31 Geneva Road on the West Side of the city, according to Norwalk Police.
The vehicle that crashed was being pursued by Norwalk Police Department resulting in one death, police said.
The time of the crash was 11:09 a.m. Thursday, police said.
Geneva Road was closed after the fatal crash between Richards Avenue and Fillow Street, police said.
Two people were extricated from the badly damaged vehicle, which slammed into a tree.
