Police: South Norwalk Traffic Stop Nets Three Men On Drug Charges

NORWALK, Conn. — Three men were busted on drug charges after speeding through a stop sign in Norwalk and officers found cocaine, marijuana and Ecstasy in their car, police said.

Officers on patrol saw a Honda driven by 18-year-old Tyrique Bowman speeding down Lexington Avenue at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, police said. After Bowman ran a stop sign at Ely and Wilson avenues, officers pulled the vehicle over, police said.

Officers saw bags on marijuana on the lap of the Honda’s rear passenger as they approached the car, police said. They also saw several purple pills, which they later determined to be Ecstasy, police said.

Officers recovered 3.5 grams of cocaine, 13 bags of marijuana weighing 20.8 grams, 14 Ecstasy pills and a jar of wax marijuana from the vehicle, police said.

Andres Bautista, 18 and Luis Rosales, 22, were passengers, and all three were taken into custody without incident, police said.

Bowman was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license or registration; traveling unreasonably fast; possession of a controlled substance or less than 4 ounces of marijuana; illegal, manufacture, distribution, sale or prescription of a controlled substance; failure to obey a stop sign; and illegal window tint, police said. Bowman’s bond was set at $20,000 with a court date of Aug. 19.

Rosales was charged with illegal, manufacture, distribution, sale or prescription of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance or less than four ounces of marijuana; possession of narcotics; and possession of a hallucinogen or less than four ounces of marijuana, police said. His bond was set at $20,000 with a court date of Aug. 19.

Bautista was charged with possession of a controlled substance or less than 4 ounces of marijuana; and illegal, manufacture, distribution, sale or prescription of a controlled substance, police said. His bond was set at $10,000 with a court date of Aug. 19.
