LaPak and Delallo were recognized for their lifesaving actions on Sept. 10.

While on patrol in Norwalk Harbor, they spotted a man struggling to stay afloat.

It was later discovered that the man had been knocked off his boat, sustaining a head injury. Delallo entered the water, and with the assistance of a passing boater, swam the man to the police boat, saving the man's life.

Also honored as September 2016 Officers of the Month were Officers Mark Suda, Max Sixto, Kyle Lipeika and Brian Barrett.

They were recognized for their efforts in combating narcotics dealing and firearms possession in and around the Washington Village Housing complex.

All of the officers were honored at a ceremony attended by Mayor Harry Rilling and ranking officers from the Police Department.
