NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk police officer was hospitalized but "doing well" after he was accidentally hit by a bullet Tuesday afternoon during training at headquarters, police said.
The unidentified officer suffered a gunshot wound in his arm "as a result of an accidental discharge of a firearm" at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
He was transported to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The incident at the firing range inside police headquarters at 1 Monroe St. in South Norwalk
It is under investigation by the Norwalk Police Department's Detective Bureau.
