Officer James Barron earned the social media praise after receiving the Luciano Award while graduating the Police Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Academy, according to the department.

The Academy offers police officers basic, advanced and specialized training opportunities to enhance the professionalism of Connecticut's police forces, according to its website. The Luciano Award is presented to the officer who earns the highest academic score in his/her class.

Norwalk's Facebook post congratulating Barron served as a place for others to honor his accomplishment as well.

"Congratulations on your graduation and the high achievement Ofc. Barron! Best of luck, and stay safe!" said one message from the Brookfield Police Department.
