Justin Salicrup of Bridgeport was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 13, by Milford Police after failing to stop for police for a routine traffic violation, said Officer Joseph Dempsey.

According to Dempsey, officers attempted to stop Salicrup on Bridgeport Avenue near Schoolhouse Road. He initially stopped, but when the officer approached the vehicle he took off at a high rate of speed onto I-95 southbound.

Officers followed the vehicle but broke off the pursuit for public safety,  he added.

A short time later, the department was notified that the vehicle had broken down in Stratford and three suspects had been detained by the Connecticut State Police and Stratford Police.

An investigation led to the arrest of Salicrup for engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving, resisting arrest, failure to obey a traffic signal and failure to have tail lights. He also was charged with officers a fake name. During an investigation, it was discovered that he was also wanted on two warrant for violating his court set probation, Dempsey said.

He is being held on $101,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
