Gazebo Fire Spreads To Stamford Home

A fire was nearly too hot to handle for a Stamford family when a blaze broke out in a gazebo and spread to a Glenbrook home.

Crews from the Stamford Fire Department were dispatched to an Oscar Street home shortly before 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning, where there were multiple reports of a gazebo fire in the back of the house.

Upon arrival at the home, firefighters found a gazebo fully engulfed in flames, which had spread to the back of the two-story home. Crews were able to knock down the flames and limit the damage to the exterior siding and sheathing of the house. The fire was declared under control at 4:14 a.m.

According to Stamford Fire Department officials, all three occupants of the home were able to escape without injury. In total, 29 firefighters responded to the scene before the flames were extinguished. No firefighters were injured before clearing the scene at 5:43 a.m., and no cause for the fire has been released.
