Car Goes Off I-95 In Westport, Lands In The Woods

WESTPORT, Conn. — Three people escaped injury Tuesday night after the car they were traveling in went off the highway while traveling on Interstate 95 north and crashed in the woods, the Westport Fire Department said.

The Westport Fire Department responded to the single-car crash between exits 18 and 19 and found the vehicle off the roadway and in the woods. 

The three occupants were not injured in the accident and refused medical transport to the hospital, the department said. 

The Westport Fire Department responded with one chief officer’s car, one rescue and one engine. The last fire department unit cleared the scene at 9:51 p.m. 

Tuesday night was wet and rainy across Fairfield County. The fire department did not give a cause for the accident.
