NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk resident Richard Michael Koronkiewicz died on Thursday, March 24. He was 45.
A native of Norwalk, Koronkiewicz graduated from Brien McMahon High School as salutatorian. He attended Yale University science classes in ninth grade, Sacred Heart University in 10th grade and was honored with a course at Choate Rosemary Hall during the summer of his 10th-grade year.
Koronkiewicz attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, where he studied physics. He recently returned to Norwalk Community College to get an associates degree in computer science.
He is survived by his father, Stanley Koronkiewicz of Norwalk; mother and stepfather Nancy and Gene Suttenberg of Norwalk; sister Lori Anne and her husband Jeffrey Paulin of Bethel; step-brother Michael Suttenberg and step sister Michelle Suttenberg of Southington; nieces Jillian and Kaitlyn Paulin, Ella and Madilyn Suttenberg; aunts and uncles Virginia Guimond, Arthur Ruggieri, Mike Ruggieri and Cassandra Ruggieri; and many cousins, second cousins and a large extended family.
Koronkiewicz was predeceased by his uncle, Roger Ruggieri.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, at the Hoyt Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 East Wall St., in Norwalk. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., in Norwalk. Interment will follow at St John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., in Norwalk.
