Joseph 'Little Joe' Giannattasio, 67, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Joseph "Little Joe" Giannattasio, 67, a Stamford resident, died at Stamford Hospital on Friday, June 26, from complications due to a motorcycle accident.

Giannattasio was born on Feb. 26, 1948, in the Bronx to Lawrence Giannattasio and Anna Colangelo Giannattasio. He graduated from Rippowam High School and served in the Air Force with the Strategic Air Command.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Lee.

Giannattasio is survived by a son, Matthew M. Lester; a daughter, Patricia Alleva, and her husband, Michael; a brother, Lawrence "Pepper" and his wife, Geraldine; a sister, Pamela Albero, and her husband, John; a longtime friend, Roksolana; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Dominic and Anthony.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, June 30, from 4-8 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 1, at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.

Interment will take place in private.
