FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Two disputes were settled this past week in Fairfield County, with neighbors making an agreement to allow a Christmas light show to continue in Fairfield and ABC agreeing to stop dissing Norwalk on a sitcom.

ICYMI: Here are links to those two stories, as well as the other top stories from the Daily Voice in the past week:

Some lights are a little dimmer and the music is a bit muted, but there’s peace on Roseville Terrace after a petition threatened to end a popular 300,000-light Christmas extravaganza in a Fairfield neighborhood. “It’s resolved,” homeowner Gene Halliwell said of a dispute with neighbors over the crowds and traffic that come with "Wonderland at Roseville."

Norwalk resident Andy Ross has gotten his wish: "American Housewife" will no longer be dissing his hometown . Producers of the ABC sitcom said: “We’ve heard the concerns of the people of Norwalk and have made the decision to omit any mentions of the city from future episodes.” Ross had started a petition to ask the producers to stop insulting his hometown.

There's a new place to dine in town, with the grand opening this weekend of Market Place Kitchen & Bar Newtown .

A Bridgeport woman is charged with leaving two children — ages 2 and 8 — unattended in the food court at the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford while she shopped on Black Friday, Milford police said.

Ada's Kitchen + Coffee in Greenwich is getting a sibling. The chef-driven local eatery, voted "Best Breakfast" and "Best Coffee Shop" in Greenwich for this year's "Best of the Gold Coast," will open Roost in Darien in early 2018.

A man from Brookfield and a man from New Milford have been arrested on sexual assault charges after a 15-year-old boy from Danbury reported he " had a sexual encounter" with two adult men he had met through a dating app , police said Friday.

A woman who was the face of a botched effort to try to discredit The Washington Post by lying to a reporter is from Stamford and appears to work with a Westchester group that targets the media and left-leaning groups. In a lengthy story, The Washington Post detailed the fake story fed to them by Jaime T. Phillips, 41, about embattled Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

"Today" show co-host and Greenwich High graduate Matt Lauer has been fired over sexual harassment allegations. The announcement was made at the start of Wednesday's show by co-host Savannah Guthrie.

Taunts on SnapChat among teens from rival towns led to the arrest of two Darien High football players in connection with the assault of a New Canaan teenager, according to arrest warrants. The two 18-year-olds missed the Turkey Bowl game, where New Canaan upset No. 1-ranked Darien.

Lucian Wintrich, the White House correspondent for the ultra-conservative Gateway Pundit website, was arrested and charged with breach of peace after a fight broke out at his speech — titled "It's OK To Be White" — at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.
