NORWALK, Conn. -- Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, D-Norwalk, has appointed Tatiana Quinzi to the board of trustees of the Connecticut Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Quinzi, a veteran of the Marine Corps, served as an aviation operations specialist. The appointment is effective immediately and is coterminous with Duff’s appointing authority.
“As a recent veteran, Tatiana will bring valuable experience to the board of trustees for the Connecticut Department of Veterans’ Affairs,” said Duff. “I want to thank Tatiana for her continued service to Connecticut. I know she will be an excellent addition to the board.”
“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity,” said Quinzi. “The possibility of helping my fellow veterans is monumental. I am also just as excited to be working with other veterans that understand the hardships faced by returning service members in order to improve the quality of life for those who need it most.”
Quinzi is employed as a direct support professional and is a student at Norwalk Community College. The volunteer board is composed of the commissioner of the department and 16 members who advise and assist the commissioner in the operation of the veterans home, the veterans advocacy and assistance unit, as well as the administration, expansion or modification of existing programs and services of the department, and the development of new programs and services.
