NORWALK, CONN. -- Westport resident Michael Kalman has been appointed to a spot with the region’s top arts and culture organization.
According to the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County (CAFC), Kalman will bring his passion for the arts, as well as his professional expertise in digital marketing strategies, to its board of directors.
Kalman, as CEO of Stamford-based MediaCrossing, Inc., is perfectly positioned, CAFC said, to help steer its efforts to develop digitally savvy marketing support and programs for its membership.
CAFC’s membership consists of more than 200 arts and cultural organizations and 135 individual artists, all producing and creating in Fairfield.
As a CEO and business leader, Kalman helped achieve complex business objectives, built organizational cultures, orchestrated dramatic turnarounds for struggling business units, and assembled highly effective executive teams, CAFC said.
Prior to joining MediaCrossing, Kalman served as vice president of business development for ICON International, Omnicom Group company.
Between 1990 and 2000, a pivotal period within the advertising industry, he held several leadership positions with firms including: Jordan McGrath Case & Taylor; Advantage Marketing/Newman’s Own; AC&R, Biederman, Kelly and Shafer Advertising; and fsedge.com, which he founded.
Kalman, who said that he and his family are passionate about the arts, currently serves on the board of the Westport Arts Center in Westport, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
