Organized by CT Against Gun Violence, the vigil began at 7:30 p.m. outside the organization’s Old Post Road office.

Fifty-eight were killed and nearly 500 injured in the massacre, the deadliest in modern U.S. history.

“Right now Congress is considering two bills that will make us less safe from gun violence, when what they should be doing is passing legislation to make us safer,” read an invitation to the vigil from Executive Director Ron Pinciaro. “It’s time for citizens around the country to tell Congress #Enough.”
