After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Barrasi traveled to Europe and studied the work of Claude Monet and other respected artists as she began to discover her style. “I strive for deliberate application of paint and try to make every brushstroke significant,” said Barrasi.
When the time came to raise her daughters, her true masterpieces, she laid her brushes aside and focused on finger painting, mud pies, and murals. Eventually, she began teaching part-time at private art schools in New York and New Jersey and taking on private students. In 2014, Barrasi studied at the Ridgewood Art Institute with John Phillip Osborne, an award-winning artist in Hudson Valley.
"Passion for Light" will incorporate Barrasi's unique style, which has been influenced by great artists of the past and present. One of the most important elements she incorporates is the use of natural light. “I am mesmerized and inspired by natural light; sometimes I fall in love with the sunlight dancing on a scene or an object in the distance and I just grab my brushes and go,” said Barrasi.
Barrasi has traveled far and wide to become the artist she is today and her love for art doesn't seem to be fading away. "Painting is not just my passion, but my addiction,” said Barrasi.
