NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Fire Department and Human Services Council are teaming for the third year in a row to host an annual Toy Drive to benefit HSC-Children’s Bank.

The drive will be from Friday, Nov. 25, to Wednesday, Dec. 21.

This program helps children in the Norwalk area who have been abused, neglected and/or are at-risk, many of whom live in foster care or group homes and are struggling with frightening and unclear futures, according to a release from Human Services Council. For many, this will be their only gift this holiday season.

New and unwrapped toys/ gifts can be dropped off at any of the five fire stations in Norwalk. Financial donations and gift cards for teens are welcome. Contact Kari Pesavento at 203-849-1111 at Human Services Council for more information.

Toy drop-offs can be made at the following locations:

  • Station 1 - 90 New Canaan Ave.
  • Station 2/ Fire Headquarters - 121 Connecticut Ave.
  • Station 3 - 56 Van Zant St.
  • Station 4 - 180 Westport Ave.
  • Station 5 - 23 Meadow St.

“Every year, the generosity of residents and participation in this toy drive is amazing," said Michele DeLuca, deputy director of Emergency Management. "These gifts make a difference in the lives of children and teens who are in crisis. Having five drop-off sites throughout the city makes it easy for people who live or work in Norwalk to drop off their donations, and it’s becoming a nice holiday tradition.”

For questions about the toy drive, contact  DeLuca at 203-854-0238.
