Called The Anne P. and Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Center, the new facility will have 95,000 square feet of new construction and will house a new and expanded Emergency Department, a new cancer center and a state-of-the-art Center for Digestive Diseases, among other improvements.

In addition to the 95,000 square feet of new construction, the project also includes 35,000 square feet of renovated space at the site. Among the improvements from the renovation will be an updated Ambulatory Surgery facility.

The pavilion was partly made possible by a campaign leadership gift of $10 million from The Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Family Foundation, Inc. and the McGraw family in honor of their late parents.

Norwalk Hospital serves Norwalk, Darien, Stamford, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport, Weston and other surrounding communities.

Friday’s ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the hospital’s main entrance.
