Two long-term forecasts are already available from a pair of publications with hallowed histories, but they're not exactly in agreement.
The Farmers' Almanac is saying the Northeast will see a more "normal" winter with cold conditions and plenty of snow.
Not so fast, says the Old Farmer's Almanac. While much of upstate New York and northern New England will see snowy weather, it says, but the rest of the Northeast will see a "mild and wet" weather, with Connecticut falling in that "milder" category.
The Farmers' Almanac was launched in 1818. The Old Farmer's Almanac has been in existence since 1792.
