Thunderstorms, Flash Flood, Tornado Possible In Monday Storm In Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A strong storm could dump over 2 inches of rain on Fairfield County on Monday, prompting a Flash Flood Watch for the entire area in the afternoon and into the evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm could bring strong thunderstorms, strong winds, flash flooding and even the threat of a tornado to Fairfield County.

There is a chance of showers in the daytime, but the threat will worsen in late afternoon. Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop, which could bring flash flooding.

Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are expected across the area, with locally higher amounts possible.

For Monday, the chance of rain is 60 percent during the day, rising to 80 percent by evening. The storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. 

A chance of showers and thunderstorms continues Tuesday and Wednesday, with a 30 percent chance of rain.
