FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A rainy Wednesday morning in Fairfield County will likely lead into a dry afternoon, but residents can expect to see much more rain the rest of the week.

Low pressure will bring light rain to the area Wednesday morning, though it is expected to taper off this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy with a high near 68. Wednesday night will also be cloudy, with a low around 53. There is a 30 percent chance of rain after 3 a.m.

The Weather Service warns that there is the possibility for isolated minor coastal flooding in southern Fairfield County Wednesday night. The flooding would only hit the most vulnerable shore roads or basements, though there is no significant threat to life or property expected.

A warm front will approach from the south on Thursday, leading to increasing chances of rain through the day. A thunderstorm is also possible on Thursday. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half-inch possible. The high will be near 60.

Showers are likely Thursday night, as is patchy fog before midnight. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Otherwise, the night will be cloudy with a low around 54.

Friday morning is also likely to see showers. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. The day will otherwise be cloudy with a high near 67. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 55.

Saturday is expected to be pleasant, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 71. Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 56. Sunday will see a 50 percent chance of showers, but will otherwise be partly sunny with a high near 69.
