FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A cold mass will bring below normal temperatures to Fairfield County to start off the week, and a frost advisory has been issued for the northern part of the county in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Monday is expected to be partly sunny, with steady temperature around 56, according to the National Weather Service. It will be slightly gusty, with a north wind of 10 to 14 mph. The coldest airmass of the fall season so far will be ushered in Monday night, causing temperatures to drop.

The frost advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Temperatures will drop to the lower to mid 30s. Sensitive outdoor plants should be protected. Tuesday will feature sunny skies and some weaker winds, but temperatures will remain slightly below seasonable norms, with a high near 58 predicted. Tuesday night will be clear, with a low around 39.

It will begin to warm up a bit during the middle of the week. Wednesday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 68. It will be clear on Wednesday night, when the low will be around 47.

Thursday will be sunny, with a high near 70. Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 48.

It will be sunny on Friday, when the high will be near 68.
