Cold, Rain, Wintry Mix Spoil Rest Of The Week In Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Try to enjoy Thursday's sunny weather while you can, because a wintry mix due to hit Fairfield County on Friday will usher in several days of rain.

Thursday will be sunny but unseasonably cold, with a high near 36 and wind chill values between 10 and 20, according to the National Weather Service. The high temperatures in the afternoon will average around 10 degrees colder than is normal for this time of the year. Clouds will increase Thursday night, with the temperature dropping to a low of around 21. Some locations may see readings in the teens.

There is a chance of snow, freezing rain and sleet before 11 a.m. Friday, mostly away from the coast. Then there is a chance of rain for the rest of the day. The temperatures will begin to rise a bit, with a high near 43 and wind chill values between 20 and 30. It could be blustery too, with a southwest wind of 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Friday night will be mostly cloudy, with the temperature falling to near 41 by 9 p.m., then rising to around 45 during the remainder of the night.

On Saturday there isa  50 percent chance of light rain, mainly after 9 a.m. It will be a bit warmer, with a high near 54. Rain is likely Saturday night, where the low will be around 38. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent, with new precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch possible.

Rain will continue Sunday, where the high will be 43 during the day and the low will be 37 at night. There is also a chance of rain predicted for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
