Let me just say I am sick of this hole racial thing. Mr Pena you were voted on to the council by the people of Norwalk because of what you said, you would do, or what you could do to make Norwalk a better place (not because you are a LATINO). Frankly I don`t care what your race is all`s I want to see and here is that your keeping your promise to the public if you don`t do that move on don`t waist our time and yours. Norwalk needs leaders out there that will step up and do the wright thing for the PEOPLE,After all they are the ones that put there trust in you on election day. So please stop, you are a Norwalk citizen an elected offical listen to the people first and then from your heart. Good luck to you and David.

Ct Ave. is really bad ,so what is happening is verybody that needs to get to Wal-mart or Home depot or even Shop-Rite well they are looking at the back roads through all of our neighborhoods. There is more traffic on Stuart Ave. now than ever before, I have lived there for thirty years so I know. The traffic is out of hand now and developers want to build more. I have heard that Lowes is coming to town out on CT Ave. so that means more traffic in our neighborhood (O wait I forgot there will be no impact on traffic) for that matter there is no impact on anything. All of the large developments that are approved in Norwalk have mixed use & affordable or workforce housing . This is done for a reason, but the developers are being greedy they want as much MONEY out of the project as possable not caring at all about what they are creating. If you mix low income with moderate income you now have a balanced and safer place to live. Plus the very people that will be working in the retail space that is being developed would now have to travel to get to work if they move the workforce off site. This is one example, look at the area between Home Depo & the hospital on Ct.Ave on the north side. All that you have there is box stores and low or workforce housing and now take a look at the increace in crime in that same area. All I`am saying is if you spred work force housing through out the city you have better balance and again a safer place for everyone to live in.

Mr Pena You had to know going into this that being a council person is not an easey thing to do and that it does not pay a lot of money. That being said the way I see it is if you love your city or town and you want to make sure things are going in the right direction then get involved. Only get involved if you really care, not because you want money or some kind of statis thing. Norwalk is not as big as Hartford we don`t have the resorses like Hartford. So if your looking for more money go there.
There are a lot of people in this town that give there time for free and I truely mean a lot. Mr Watts why would you say "a poor man couldn`t do it" I am poor and I am out there all the time fighting for what I belive in (NORWALK) I love Norwalk and care about what happens here that is why I go to meeting go to public hearings and do letters to the Editor .
Yes I do know that being the Mayor,a council person, or for that mater any person that hold a job were the public is involved have got to be very difacult but again you know that doing into it. I would like to take this time to THANK YOU everyone that trys to keep Norwalk moving forward and that CARES about Norwalk .

Politricks ; You could be right and I can`t help only to think that its going to get worst now that the city guys know there giong to the highway dept. Only time will tell and if it does happen customer service phones should be ringing off the hook (203) 854-3200 .

Becareful what you wish for. Yes we do need to get this job going but if you think your having trouble getting up & down Ct. Ave. now just wait. This is a massive project and will disrupt the flow of traffic in the area around 95 & on 95 it self. I for one do not use this section of Ct.Ave. because the traffic is so bad now. Hold on for a bumpy road for the next three years and lets just hope all this work will pay off in the end.

I was there at the meeting , there were a couple of things that I left with, One) is that Norwalk need a third party cause what I saw on that stage the other night was a discrace. Two) why would some one put all there eggs in one basket. Three) I understand what went on but I don`t feel it`s right I don`t care what anyone says I would not approve a contract unless I saw the whole thing drawn up all the T`s crossed and the I`s dotted that my friends is how you CYA and you have to do that in this day and age. Whats to stop someone from saying oh that not what I meant or you miss under stood me if you have the contract in front of you it stops all the guess work. Also I feel that something as big as this should have gone back to the peolpe for a special vote have the people go back to the polls and let them decide what should happen.Other towns and citys do this only on the things that would effict all the people and were your tax dollars are concerned.

Okay heres the deal. I know that everyone on the commision is a volunteer and you work hard, long hours. well guess what so is every body else. All the people that go to these meetings sit there and listen to whats happening for hours & hours we all have full time jobs have family then go and sit and listen at these meetings then after try to relay back to our neighbors all what happened and what we need to look out for. So really not only do the commissiners deserve respect so do the general public I would think that the commision would like it if the public would bring up things maybe they haven`t seen, I know everyone wants to get the meeting over asap but most of the things that are being descided in these meeting have everything to do with the public and I know your saying that is why we have a public hearing but by that time it`s too late . I`am just saying we the people of Norwalk should have a say in everything that goes on here. Treat people the way you want to be treated and maybe we`ll all get along together and get things done. If your an elected offical then you must know the people elected you and you should be listening to the people not your party. Diane Cece you are a wonderful person and you stand up for the people and the process and only what things done openly and honestly in the way it was intened to be done, keep it up don`t give up Thank You

So Capt.Vitarbo , Now that the choice was made how then do we fix the problem or shall I say the process so that this does not happen again? I have been involved with a lot of things in Norwalk over the years and lots of times this is a big problem(process). In the way people are heard from or not, in this case the people were not heard from, some would say thats find others would say that not fair. I would say the people that pay the saleries of the people that work for the city have every right to say what they want in a controled manner and be respecful, and always do your home work before you speak. Capt. Vitarbo Thank You for all that you do and Thank You to everyone that serve Norwalk and the community. View Comment
Mr Hunt ; That intersection is a five way with a stop sign controling one and a traffic light controling the other four. Some times people try to run the light some don`t stop for the stop sign, and on top of all that you have lots of cars. If you come out here and watch what goes on at this intersection I`ll bet you would try to find another way around this area. Not to say that this may have been driver error still there have been plenty of problems at this intersection and something needs to be done. This intersection is really bad. I have said this for a long time but no one listens. Last year when the hospital wanted to put up the new parking garage that intersection was brought up. But as always there traffic consultant said (there would be no impact) every time there is a traffic study they ALWAYS say no impact. Some one need to take a close look at that intersection( Maple st & Van Buren Ave.) View Comment
If it dosen`t fit you must not permit. To all the people that are involved in the prosses here, please think of all the people that live in the neighbohood first and how this applacation will change there lives. For several hunderd people this is a quality of life issue. There are other places in Norwalk were this applaction is more suted not in this residential neighborhood once again ( if it dosen`t fit you must not permit ) View Comment
