Look in the paper and see who has been arrested on gun charges. Then go to the judicial sight and see what punishment they get. One criminal, with an ASSAULT rifle, only got 3 years prison time. In 3 years, he will get out and go on the street, get another assault rifle, and finish whatever it was he had started.
Where in this gun bill does it say that they are going to get the illegal weapons off the street? Or, the criminals to actually PAY FOR their crime? View Comment
I was at a meeting in which one of the senators mentioned how to keep illegal guns out of Connecticut, in the past there were approximately 20 State police cars, patrolling, watching for cars/trucks that may have illegal guns in them (how they knew he never mentioned). Now there are only 1-2 cars doing that. Maybe they should go back to the old way, stop the ILLEGAL guns and stop harassing (strong word, but the only one I can think of to use) the legal gun owners. I clicked the link to read the whole story..."Leger never learned in college how to get, and keep, the attention of her students. She also never learned how to tailor her lessons to teach students who don't speak English or have special education needs." And there lies the problem. WHY should a elementary teacher have to teach to those who don't speak/understand English? The students should understand AND speak English before coming into a classroom. View Comment
I was hoping to find some legitimate comments here, instead I see what looks like a bunch of elementary school kids taunting each other.
This "thing" not only had access to guns (which may or may not have been locked up) he had access to knives and swords. So it seems to me that if he couldnt get the guns, he wouldve used knives and/or swords. So, big question...should the government ban them, too? View Comment
Whats interesting is what was said at a meeting with a bunch of politics...that in years past CT had 15-20 state police cars watching for illegal guns coming into CT, now there is 1-2...maybe if they added more police to watch there wouldnt be so many illegal guns in Ct! View Comment
GUNS kill? I have yet to read about a GUN that just up and killed someone. PEOPLE kill, they just use guns (knives, cars, dogs, whatever they can use) to help them. ENFORCE the laws and maybe people wouldnt be getting shot/killed.
Take a look at the judicial site and see how many REPEAT offenders there are. Criminals get guns anyway they can, and they don't go and buy them legally. View Comment
Was he wearing a life jacket? And, I agree with Happnewyorker, unless he was forced onto the boat, how can you blame the boat owner for his death? It's sad he died, but accidents happen. View Comment
headline is misleading...if I need gas, I am NOT driving to Danbury! How about NORWALK gas stations??? My gas is maybe the writer of this article isn't from Norwalk? View Comment
You all are saying to repeal the second amendment, that is stupid. Go to the CT Judicial site and look at the punishment for those who ILLEGALLY use guns. The MOST I've seen is 5 years prison time. How about changing THOSE laws? Make the punishment stiffer. 20 years MINIMUM, no matter what. But, no. It's all about "Lets REPEAL the Second Amendment!" Really people. THINK before you act! Push for stiffer punishment and the crimes will slowly stop (mainly because the criminals will all be in prison).

ahhh, now they are all deleted. Daily Norwalk isn't worth reading anymore! All those comments are gone, is it because people complained about how this online paper covers NOTHING anymore? I wonder how long until THIS comment gets deleted...? A couple hours? A day? I'm sure it will be deleted because you don't want ANYONE saying anything negative about your paper, right? And, I'm sure people do remember that those other comments that were deleted were all negative! :::timing how long it will be for this to be deleted::: View Comment
