The framers of our Constitution had no idea that there would be gun nuts using the second amendment to defend semi-automatic assault weapons; armor piercing bullets, etc. The gun nuts say they oppose gun control. Every major law enforcement organization as well as virtually all police chiefs in Connecticut support banning military assault rifles; universal background checks and limiting the size of magazines. For the record, Bromer and Webbe unduly criticised the selectmen during the public comment portion of the meeting, but that’s not why they were arrested. They both disrupted the meeting in angry outbursts as the selectmen deliberated on subsequent agenda items, even after a time-out was called by First Selectman Herrmann with the hopes of calming things down. It is amazing to me that people such as jolereed actually support bullies like Bromer and Webbe. Truly amazing! View Comment

It is almost laughable that tomandjerry believes that Mr. Herrmann is an "appointed official". Mr. Herrmann was re-elected with 74% of the vote in the last election cycle. I could not agree more with the comments by Challoran and Deaneyes. Mr. Herrmann has done an excellent job running the town. There is a small group of people in town who complain about everything and they really do need to get a life.
