No, actually, you can thank the Senate.
B.O. presented a budget and the House presented a budget. Regardless of what you think about those two budgets, they were created and submitted. However, the Senate has not presented a budget in the last five years. So I believe we can give both Blumethal and Chris Murphy a big THANK YOU for this. View Comment

I'm not on Twitter, but apparently there is a log where you can check the past tweets, so I'm sure it will be there.

Ah-yup, that's the government for sure!
Was it Weldon's car? That might be critical in this case. I don't think he would have given the police permission to search the car if he knew the gun was in the trunk since he didn't have a license for it.
Good! I'm glad to hear it. People couldn't even leave this young man alone after he died. The memorial Facebook page for him had to be taken down because of so many negative comments. There's a difference between free speech and needless harassment. View Comment
I'm sure they will be having an open house and tours. The engine bays in the garage look like football fields to me. They apparently need it with the tiller truck and all.
Next time I see the Chief, I'll suggest a clothes line pulley be connected to Speedy Donut. View Comment
@ Sono - What about trucks and more manpower and more supplies for our first responders the police dept?
Uh, I seem to remember attending a ribbon cutting/dedication ceremony for 1 Monroe Street not all that long ago.
They got a license plate reader in 2009.
a crime fighting truck in 2010.
and three new motorcycles in 2011.
I'm sure there's more equipment that they've acquired over the past few years, some of it was replacement equipment, other items were more exotic, but I don't really have time to research it all now.
Interesting report. It raises a number of questions:
One thing that is not quite clear is whether the definition of "student arrests" is limited to actions that occurred specifically on school grounds or whether the arrests were executed elsewhere (home, or a non-school location).
Also why weren't the figures for Bridgeport included?
Interesting that Stamford had 76 arrests listed and Stamford Academy had 8. Why are these counted separately? Does the Norwalk number include Briggs?
