Could be, but since the Mosque property is bought & paid for plus untold thousands in design & consultation I think it would be costly to the city. Besides why would it be less intrusive to the residents there than where it belongs? I doubt the residents in West Norwalk woulda had issue with an Episcopal church so I imagine the envisioned complex is bigger than Grace Episcopal. Enough of this NIMBY BS, let them build what they want on THEIR property. View Comment
What could possibly be more embarassing than to call yourself a Democrat in CT, the biggest Democratic failure in the union right now. Highest income, highest taxed, most restrictive, and flat broke like virtually every other Dem controlled cesspool out there.
Im proud to call myself a Republican & quick to point out that most Rep politicians are true blue RINO's.
The fact is the Liberal gam,e is old & its a failure. Time to get back to our roots & let America prosper again after this dismal experiment in socialism. View Comment
No kidding. But I'd bet these guys blamed, rightfully so, Obama at least as much as Bush. After all Obama voted for the Iraq war & Obama hasnt let up on the Mid East even a little. At any rate if we just STOP admitting ANYBODY with even a hint of radicalism or criminal background in things would be better. Especially since Obama is NOT scaling anything back in the region & will likely be fighting Iran soon. View Comment
Its pretty pathetic that the same liberals who are constantly crying about "big oil" profits are the ones taxing it far beyond the profit of those companies. How is it a Democratic legislator in CT has more right to make money off of a product than the people who make it? Then these same liberals will act like they actually want us to use more efficient cars & conserve fuel. Illogical is a good way to describe the concept of creating an economic dependency on something and then trying to get people to buy less of what you are dependent upon. The same losers do the same thing with alcohol & cigs. Tax cigs until the state makes more than the store, then spend money campaigning against smoking cigerettes. Are they so blind as not to see what will happen when enough people quit & enough people decide not to be so wasteful with fuel? What to tax then? View Comment
Guess it depends how you view his service. I found him to be something of an elitist who feels he and his officers were above the rest of us. I dont think we need people such as that running the city. We need somebody to start putting the taxpayer above personal agendas & opinions. View Comment
Looks nice but if we dont adress our attractiveness to homeless, welfare recipients, street gangs and lowlifes in general then who believes that it will remain nice. Heck we had homeless LIVING in Oyster shell park before it was done & theyre still there. Our most pressing issue is ridding ourselves of this cancer. As long as we ignore it not much new we build for the public has much hope. As it stands I see new benches & shelters for people to use when the shelters are full. View Comment
Unfortunately all our state legislature and most local politicians know how to do is tax & spend. Heck they even spend money looking for ways to save money, usually spending more than they actually save but still bragging about what they have done for us. View Comment
I guess we can agree on some things and this is one. I have no real problem with officers making extra money directing traffic. But dont see why this money needs to come from the PD. They can go work for flagman companies, or form their own companies like so many firemen do. To top it off many dont even take it serious & we can see many texting and checking e-mails, when not talking to crews & passerby, oblivious to the traffic they are being paid to watch. This is just one way Norwalk could save its TAXPAYERS millions of dollars. Thing is its getting to the point where theres more residents not paying taxes than taxpayers. As this continues costs of running the city go on the back burner because fewer voters are effected. Thats also why we have such a liberal slant to everything we do. NOTHING we do is considered based on cost effectiveness or affordability. If we cant afford it the Common Council just raises taxes, much like Duff & his buddies do in Hartford.

Actually I'd put you in that catagory. You and your ilk are ruining this site. If you cannot refute something somebody says with intelligent dialog you clowns start acting like little children, very common for todays Democrats, hell Obama does it as we can clearly see in Fast & Furious, Bengazi and now the way his followers played games in the IRS. Funny really but very sad at the same time. Get a life. View Comment
Many live here for MUCH less than $60,00 a year. My wife and I together barely clear that since Obamas been in charge. I have ALL the respect in the world for our officers but dont think $60,000 to start is justifiable. On another note while they do rick their lives, its not their job to protect us and unrealistic to think they can. They solve crimes and there are many occupations with much higher injury & death rates. Think about it, when was the last time an officer was killed on duty in Norwalk? I hope it NEVER happens but the truth is its very very uncommon. View Comment
Its a disgrace the way they decide to take things WE need when the results of THEIR inability to spend intelligently come to a head. We should have a requirement that the very first effect if we cant pay our bills is an immediate stop to ALL Congressional and executive paychecks. Our leaders should NOT be able to go on business as usual while WE suffer for THEIR silliness. View Comment
Nothing should happen to the driver. Our city council should consider ordinances & the state legislature statutes protecting us from civil & criminal charges when we do the right thing. This woman will likely try to sue somebody & in this state she'll be taken seriously. She attacked him and expected him to just let her assault him, she ought to do 30 days or something.

Thats silly. Nobody has respect for each other because family values & things of that nature mean little to the liberal dirtbags that make up much of our citizenry. View Comment
$60,000 starting salary? No wonder its so expensive to live here. Not sure why we need more anyway since we have enough to put officers, sometimes several at once all with cruisers at every construction site in Norwalk. View Comment
Thing is in progressive America racial profiling is such a taboo that they would rather risk leaving people alone that being accused of it. View Comment
Lol, you're funny. Just how do you think anybody knew about it? The NORWALK PD dummy. Could work that way here too if the residents in the projects & slums in Norwalk worked with the police when they see a crime take place more often. View Comment
Norwalk needs more than jobs. Given the number of illegal aliens who find work here its almost silly to state we dont have jobs. What we do have are ALOT of people too good to work for a living when they can get a check for just being here. What Norwalk NEEDS is tax relief more than anything else.
I wonder if Miklave or any candidate has any desire to make it a better place to live by reducing the burden instead of trying to attract new people to help pay the freight. We already have plenty of people if everyone payed their share. View Comment
Looks great really. But I think calling it an upgrade in quality of life is ambitious.
If you want to see how much Norwalk cares about its streets take a drive down lower East Ave or Strawberry hill. Those ARE quality of life issues. Even though West Ave looks like a war zone the streets are better than most in town. View Comment
