How will this affect I95 in July, when many of us drive "under" that Bridge in order to get to Exit 5, Stamford exits and beyond? Will traffic be diverted for local as well as interstate driving during the demolition of the bridge in July?????? View Comment

I think some of these cuts are outrageous and should be reconsidered; especially those relating to health and education issues. Why don't you do what companies do - FREEZE salaries, salary cuts, etc. We the People who voted for the government do NOT seem to have a say in this. Why NOT? What recourse do we have to oppose your decisions? "We the People" are the first 3 words of the Constitution, yet we, the people, are always ignored. Yes we voted, but we didn't give you carte blance to make these riduculous decisions!!!!!!!! View Comment

I watched American Bandstand every afternoon after high school in the late 50's. My dream was to appear on the show along with all the Philadelphia kids. I loved Justine and all the dances they did. Dick Clark is my favorite TV personality. He was a talented, gifted man who had the respect and admiration of many Americans. The music & entertainment and television industry will miss him. We can enjoy the legacy he left behind for many years to come. Like a proverbial Father, he groomed his successor. Dick Clark was an inspiration to many, even "after" his stroke. He had much courage to do his part on the New Year's Rockin' Eve party year after year. My profound sympathy goes out to his wife, children, friends and family. GOD Bless you, Dick, and rest in Peace. The "Band" is waiting for you up there. My Mom will finally get to meet you. It isn't just "education" that the State of Connecticut needs help with. Considering the low income families that are falling behind in education, you need to start with the economy and getting better salaries for people. And, to boot, I would like to know the companies who commented 'I have job openings at my company but I can't find enough qualified people to fill them,' because I am more than qualified for every position to which I have applied and have been turned down, despite the fact that I have had an exemplary employment record. And if you are over-qualified for a position, it is because the employer doesn't want to pay the salary commensurate with the experience or capability of the individual applying for the position.
