I went to the Norwalk DMV back in May for a license renewal and got there at 7:00am. I was about 30th in line at that time. By the time the doors opened at 8:00am (Sat), the line had gone around the building and the parking lot and up the hill. Once inside it took me about 45min which was not bad. I just feel sorry for those that were near the end of that line. They had to wait at least 2 hours. Oh and did I mention that it was raining also.

The homeless are already there! They did not talk about that in the article. To the right of the entrance to the park, along the water, is a shelter that is set up by some homeless person(s). I guess it is better to stay there than the actual shelter a few blocks away. View Comment

Universal backround checks are only as good as the information that is in the computer system. It is good for catching someone with a criminal history or maybe even a domestic violence issue, but it is not going to stop the other individuals with mental issues that are not even in the system. As for the permit for ammo, all that did was create more work for someone up at the state police to have to sort through all the applications and try and get them processed in a timely manner. A total waste of time and manpower. I am sure that person can be used doing more important things. The registering of large capacity magazines is just ridiculous! There is no way to register something that does not have a serial number or even a manufactured date on it. How is that going to be enforced? None of these things will stop the violence that is going on. Criminals are criminals and that is not going to change. I encourage you to rethink your position on some of these issues. View Comment
Here is an interesting opinion on gun control.

CL&P needs to learn how to distribute their resources once they get them. Anyone looking at their map can tell that the hardest hit area of the CT coast was not the first to see the most crews working. The upper part of the state is almost all clear and the coast still is showing a majority of the outages. You would think that they would have concentrated along the coast first!! View Comment
I think Mr. Kydes left BEFORE any vote was taken on the amendment or the resolution. I too hope the BET approves the funds. Now that the city has come up with some funds it is time for the NFT to maybe reconsider the 1.3 percent raise and maybe take a little less. I do not think a freeze, just a good faith reduction. I believe the teachers should get a little something. To say that they should take a freeze like some of the other unions is not fair. Police and Firefighters can make up for pay freezes by just working some overtime. The teachers do not have that option. Like I said, I believe a lower percentage would at least show that they are coming to the table to help. View Comment
I have 2 kids in Kendall and the teachers there are great. This award would really help the teachers fund the field trips and extra things they need for their classrooms that the city does not provide. View Comment
