We have to make it easier to live here. Our young people graduate college and have to move out of state because they simply can't afford to stay. And yes, a $30,000 car IS a luxury. It's a year's salary for many so paying a yearly tax on it it a lot of money. Other states do without it so why can't we? There must be a better way. View Comment
3 family members worked tirelessly for her company and couldn't get health care no matter how hard they tried. The stock went up considerably at that time and no raises were to be found. I admit if I judged her by her commercials I'd be sold but I know better from first hand experience. I wonder how much she's paid in PR and how much that amount could have benefited her employees. As much as I'd love to see a woman in that position, in this case, a man is better suited for the job. View Comment
My family moved here from NYC specifically for our children to have open spaces right in our neighborhood. We're praying it stays this way. View Comment
Well, we can't say we didn't see that coming.
I agree with the comment about it not being an issue of who was chosen, just how he was chosen. Even after a nation wide search he may have been the one picked but I guess we'll never know. Our new Police Chief seems to be very qualified but time will tell. I wish him the best. View Comment
I am so very disappointed the Museum has closed. Our family had planned on going once school was out. My husband and I are not native Norwalkers but our children are and we were all hoping to learn more about the town we call home. We are shocked that this museum isn't visited by every local school. It should be on each school's "must do" list. I personally feel that lack of advertising is what made this museum forgotten about. I talked to many parents about this (many whom have kids at Side By Side Charter School and Columbus Magnet in South Norwalk) and so many of them had no idea the museum existed. Shame on Norwalk! We should have more pride and make this a priority. View Comment

Please think long and hard before you write. Just because we have the right to share our thoughts doesn't always mean we should. People are grieving. I'm sure people on both sides of this tragic situation are heartbroken and don't need others adding to there upset by pointing fingers.
God bless you all and may he rest in peace. View Comment
If we cannot speak for God's creatures who cannot speak for themselves, what does that say about us? You saved those poor horses.
I'm usually not one for revenge but as for Paul Vittorio, I wouldn't mind him living in those conditions!
Let's slap a huge fine on him and donate the funds to an animal rights organization. View Comment
I find the mayor's comment interesting. Did last year's funds go to "...meet a responsibility to care for the most vulnerable members of our community"? It was to build a Charter School in South Norwalk. First, we already have one. Side By Side Charter School. This public school serves prek-8th grade. I bet they could have found some way to spend those proceeds by now. If our youth aren't the most vulnerable members of our community, who is? and can they afford to wait? View Comment
I'm so glad to see funds going to such a worthwhile cause during such difficult times.
Is anyone else wondering what's happening with the proceeds from last year's Mayor's Ball? Monies were raised for a new charter school in South Norwalk and I've yet to hear any word of it's development. How long will the funds sit on hold?
Side By Side Charter School is a wonderful public school located in South Norwalk and it's students and staff could be benefiting from this event right now.
Especially when times are tough, let's make sure that any contributions that are raised get to those who will utilize them sooner rather than later.
If folks are kind enough to donate, let's be wise with their donations.

You deserve it.

Since there were 3 shooting incidents near Side By Side Charter School in the last year or so there is now a police car in the parking lot. One shot was heard by the students, some in pre-k. A police escort accompanies the children on walking trips. Columbus Magnet school is down the street. I am grateful someone is watching our kids but would prefer the bigger issue be solved. The police presence is not comforting, it's just a reminder that there's a serious problem in our community. The Police Headquarters is 1 block away. Clearly the criminals do not feel intimidated.
It is TIME FOR A CHANGE.
