Court Upholds Civil Suit Against New Canaan's Michael Farren NEW CANAAN, Conn. - In a decision reached Monday by the Connecticut State Appellate Court, New Canaan's Michael Farren will pay $28.6 million to his ex-wife, The New Canaan Advertiser reported. Farren was sentenced to 15 years in prison in September 2014 for beating his ex-wife nearly to death in January 2010, the story said.  In addition to his prison sentence, Farren will be subject to an additional five years of special parole and will have a lifetime restraining order preventing him from contacting his ex-wife, the story said. Mount Vernon Family Flees Home During Sunday Night Fire MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A home on Rich Avenue was engulfed in flames before midnight Sunday, forcing a Mount Vernon family to flee the fire, according to a report from News 12 Westchester. According to News 12, the Mount Vernon Fire Department was able to get the fire under control in roughly 90 minutes. Deal To Sell Galleria Mall In Works WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - There is a potential deal in the making to sell the Galleria Mall, and further White Plains Mayor Tom Roach's goal to make the area more walkable. According to Lohud, there is a deal in the works that would sell the mall to a national company.  The sale hasn't been confirmed yet, Lohud added, saying that the mall's current owner, the Simon Property Group, released a statement saying they do not comment on current sales.  For more on the sale, click here.
