The Norwalk-based tennis organization, run by Marvin Tyler, conducted tournaments for players ranging from 12-16. “The weather was great and the kids had so much fun,’’Tyler said. “I always give out free water to all my players to make sure they are hydrated and healthy. It’s something parents enjoy because sometimes kids forget, and they can have several matches in a day. The kids also said they liked the nice trophies that we give out.”
Andrea Khattabi, the captain and No. 1 player on the Norwalk High School tennis team, assisted Tyler in running the tournaments.
“She volunteers at all of my tournaments and is a tremendous asset to the players and me,’’ Tyler said. “She helps everything run smoothly and it would challenging to run these events without her support.”
Slammer Tennis World will host a tournament at Norwalk High in August for players ages 12-14. Click here for registration information.
