Weston Diver Shines at League Championships

WESTON, Conn. – Weston Field Club diver Liam Simmons finished second on the 1-meter board and third on the 3-meter board in the Fairfield County Swimming League 12-and-under championships last week at Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich.

Simmons, 11, finished undefeated in dual meets. He and the Weston divers were coached by Fairfield native Ali Miller, a former diver at the Norwalk-based Next Generation team. Weston had an outstanding season despite a small lineup compared to the other teams in the league. The team is led by Simmons and coached by Miller, a diver at the University of Pennsylvania. Simmons encouraged other members of the team to try diving. WFC had 17 divers ages 5 to 14. Working with Miller, the team's divers had their best season in several years.

Complete results of the league meet are available on its website .
