UConn Fairfield County Day Set for June 2

The third annual UConn Fairfield County Day is Thursday, June 2, at UConn Stamford at 5:30 pm.

The event benefits the Fairfield County Sports Commission, Stamford Campus Directors Fund and the UConn Alumni of Fairfield County Scholarship Fund.

A food and beverage reception is highlighted by the induction ceremony for the four newest UConn Fairfield County Sports Hall of Famers: Donna Fagan (Norwalk, women's softball), Gregg Hutchings (Ridgefield, men's ice hockey), Sean Mulcahy (Westport, football) and Ken Murphy (Westport, men's soccer).

Guest speakers are George Blaney, UConn associate head basketball coach for the National Champion Huskies, and Christopher Earley, dean of the School of Business. Other former UConn athletes and coaches expected to attend are UConn FC Hall of Famers Chris Smith, Joe Markus and Brian Usher.

The event starts off in the morning with a golf tournament at the Country Club of Darien with former Yankees pitcher Tommy John one of the celebrities playing in the event.
