Synchronized Skating Teams Align With Norwalk Rink

NORWALK, Conn. – The new SoNo Ice House in Norwalk will be the secondary home of Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating and will host a two-day clinic Aug. 27 and Aug. 29. The synchronized skating teams will maintain their primary home at Terry Conners Rink in Stamford.

SoNo Ice House, which is scheduled to open this month, will host the introductory clinic from 4 to 4:50 p.m. More information is available on the team’s website.

The clinic is targeted toward beginner skaters who are interested in trying synchronized skating before committing to a team. The sessions will be instructed by professional team coaches Gina Valenzano-Gomez, Val Legutko and Kari Pace.

Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating has several teams, including the Sprites at the Beginner 2 level, Shimmers at Pre Juvenile and Shadows at Open Juvenile. Skaters range in age and ability from beginner to the accomplished. The teams represent the Skating Club of Southern Connecticut, based in Darien and Stamford.
