Student Golfers Sought For Charity Golf Classic In Norwalk

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- High School students from all over the state can apply to participate in the 25th Annual Charity Golf Classic sponsored by the Kennedy Center in Trumbull. The event will be held on Monday, June 13, at the Shorehaven Country Club in Norwalk.

This tournament features top junior golfers throughout the state who are teamed with an adult foursome. Junior golfers, aged 15-18, are eligible to play free of charge in the 18-hole tournament.

In addition, each junior golfer receives an academic scholarship from the Fred and Fran Junior Golf Scholarship Fund. Selection is based on academic achievement, school and community leadership and golf proficiency. Since its inception, over 525 junior golfers have received over $255,000 in scholarship money.

The deadline for applications is Friday, May 27. Junior golf applications may be obtained by contacting The Kennedy Center at (203) 365-8522, Ext. 213 or clicking here. Applications are also available through high school guidance counselors and athletic directors. 

The Kennedy Center, a private, community-based rehabilitation organization, offers community services to persons with disabilities and special needs from birth to senior years.
