Heaphy finished second in 1:46.26, and Sara Belles of Brookfield was third.
John Krasniewicz of Old Greenwich won the mens 60-and-up division, and Sharon Vos of Old Greenwich won the womens 50-59 division. Vos and Krasniewicz also won the overall series titles in their age groups.
The field was the third time this winter there was a record number of finishers in the four-race series. The old record for finishers in the 25k was 233, set in 2010.
Runners faced chilly temperatures but near-ideal running conditions on a challenging course that winds its way into New York state. The first eight miles feature tortuous up-hills, followed by a steep decline in the second half of the race.
