STAMFORD, Conn. Roxbury Swim Club won the Fairfield County Swimming League diving championship in a tight race over fellow Stamford teams Long Ridge and Newfield. Roxbury also won the FCSL swimming championship on Saturday.
Roxbury accumulated 249 points, followed by defending champion Long Ridge with 208 and Newfield with 201.
Roxbury picked up critical points in the 10-and-under diving championships last week. Ben Ehret (third) and Kevin Zyskowski picked up top-10 finishes on the 1-meter board, while Saylor Kirsch (fourth), Regina Frias (seventh) and Ellie Marino (eighth) were in the top eight in the girls competition.
Newfield's Wiley Schmidt won the boys 10-and-under completion, while Long Ridge's Eamon Mahoney took second. Amanda Pyne of Bailiwick won the girls 10-and-under diving, followed by Sydney Schrenker of Roton Point and Claire Ross of the Lake Club. Newfield's Piper Van Wagenen took fifth.
In the 12-and-under diving, Roxbury's Shannon Daine won the girls 1-meter, followed by Caroline Feldman of Newfield and Alison Norton of the Stamford Yacht Club. Cameron Rhind of the Lake Club won the boys event, followed by Liam Simmons of Weston Field Club and Charlie Clark of Shore and Country. In the 3-meter girls, Daine won followed by Pyne and Norton. Rhind won the boys, with Wiley Schmidt of Newfield taking second and Simmons grabbing third. Complete results are available on the FCSL website .
