Norwalk's Silas Redd, a former star at King in Stamford, had the best day of his young career Saturday for Penn State's football team in a 33-21 win over Minnesota.
A freshman running back, Redd rushed nine times for 71 yards and was the team's leading rusher. For the season, Redd has rushed for 173 yards on 29 attempts. He leads the team with a 6.0 yards per carry average. Redd had runs of 20 yards and 26 yards on consecutive carries in the fourth quarter of Saturday's victory.
Penn State (4-3 overall, 1-2) meets Michigan on Saturday.
