NORWALK, Conn. – It's not unusual to see people playing soccer at Veteran's Memorial Park in Norwalk but last week something different was going on: the New York Red Bulls Youth Training Program Summer Camp.
The week-long camp with the Major League Soccer team was organized by Norwalk Common Council member Warren Peña (D-At Large).
"When these guys come into a new city, they do a camp," Peña said. "They target 30 kids the first time around, and we've got about 27, which is great. I think next year we'll do more."
It was the first time the team has visited a city in Connecticut.
About 200 children attended the recent skills challenge with the team, which was free.
"Next year, we'll work with some local businesses and companies, see if we can sponsor some of the kids who can't afford the camp," Peña said. "But we'll also try to double the amount next year, which will be nice."

I am proud to say that my cousin is part of the group and will soon be part of the team. They will be having fight for other department and I promise to him that we will be witnessing the pacquiao vs marquez 4 if they won the game.
They should petition the city to come up with a venue with suitable parking instead of dumping everything in Vets park & letting the neighborhood deal with it. Its a shame that taxpaying citizens cant park in front of their homes because of the cit's negligence. We NEED places for our kids to play but we NEED places for people to park when their kids are playing.
