Poll: Who's To Blame For Yankees Loss?

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The New York Yankees lost four straight games to the Detroit Tigers and were eliminated in the American League Championship Series on Thursday after having compiled the best record in the American League during the regular season.

The team with the highest payroll in Major League Baseball could not mount any significant offense as stars Robinson Cano, Alex Rodriguez, Curtis Granderson and Mark Texiera failed to produce at the plate. The loss of Derek Jeter to injury in Game 2 of the series added to the Yankees demise.

Critics are pointing to the Yankees' lack of hitting in important situations as the reason for the postseason failure. Others are placing the blame at the feet of general manager Brian Cashman and manager Joe Girardi for the makeup and management of the team.
