Plaques Unveiled for Newest Hall of Famers

The Fairfield County Sports Commission unveiled plaques for its newest Hall of Fame members Wednesday at the University of Connecticut's Stamford branch. Former Trinity Catholic and Sacred Heart University basketball star Amanda Pape and Bridgeport basketball legend Alvin Clinkscales, two of the newest inductees, attended the ceremony along with Jerry Lione. Lione's late cousin, Mickey, was also among the newest inductees.

Plaques were unveiled for Stamford's Garry Cobb, St. Joseph of Trumbull basketball coach Vito Montelli, and Stratford's John Hirschbeck, a major league baseball umpire.

The Hall of Famers were chosen last year. The commission honored them, at a dinner in October.
