Slammer Tennis World, in collaboration with the Norwalk Recreation and Parks, hosted four USTA events this summer. The tournaments are run by Marvin Tyler, President and Founder of Slammer Tennis World and the Director of Tennis for the City of Norwalk.

Winners of the USTA New England Tournament included Matthew Murphy, Boys 18 singles; Jordan Soifer, Boys 16 singles; and Callie Bartimer, Girls 18 singles.

Andrea Khattabi serves as Volunteer Assistant to the Tournament Director and Tyler Zielinski also was a volunteer for the tournaments.

“As a USTA New England Tournament Director, I love running tournament for the kids 12 and 14 because this where it all start for these players,’’ Tyler said. “I am very happy I have the time to do this for the kids so they can have a tournament to play and compete. The Recreation and Parks Department does a great job keeping the tennis courts in great shape each year.”
