University of Pittsburgh pitcher Matt Iannazzo, a junior from Norwalk, has been selected to the All-Big East preseason baseball team. Iannazzo, a left-hander, is a former star at Norwalk High.
Iannazzo compiled an 11-2 record in 13 starts last season. He won six straight games in 2010 from April 10-May 15 while posting a team-best 3.76 ERA. Iannazzo was named to the All-Big East and the ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Second Team at the end of last year.
The selections were made by Big East coaches. Pitt was picked to finish fifth in the conference.
