Norwalk's Cranbury Baseball Gets in the Swing

NORWALK, Conn. – Cranbury Baseball players smacked balls, fielded grounders and practiced throwing skills during tryouts for the new season Tuesday night at Cranbury Elementary School.

Players in the Mustang and Bronco Divisions of the league who moved up in age groups had their skills evaluated by Cranbury coaches. The Bronco Division is for players ages 11- and 12-years-old. The Mustang Division is for players ages 9 and 10. Cranbury also offers leagues for players 7 and 8 (Pinto Division), 5 and 6 (Shetland) and 4 (Liberty). Cranbury also will offer a wood bat league this summer and will participate in an all-star tournament in Cooperstown, N.Y. A Cranbury team won the Cooperstown Tournament last summer.

The league will have opening day ceremonies April 14, at Tim Devine Field. State Senator Bob Duff is scheduled to throw out the first pitch. More information is available on the league's website.
