FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The final regular season games of the high school football season kick off Wednesday when Danbury plays Ridgefield at Tiger Hollow Stadium at 7 p.m.

Other Thursday games begin  at 10 a.m. with Greenwich at Staples; Stamford at Westhill; Fairfield Warde at Fairfield Ludlowe; Wilton at Trinity Catholic; Fairfield Prep at West Haven; and Joel Barlow at Weston.

At 10:30, Norwalk will travel to Brien McMahon and Darien will play at New Canaan.

New Canaan (11-0) won the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championship last week with a 31-20 win over St.  Joseph. The Rams have already secured a playoff berth in the Class L tournament. A victory would secure the top seed. Darien (9-1) is currently seeded fourth in Class L. A win would secure a playoff berth for the Blue Wave as well. Darien could advance to the state tournament even with a loss.

Ridgefield (Class LL), Fairfield Prep (Class LL), Staples (Class  LL) and Joel Barlow (Class M) also have a chance to reach the playoffs.

The official state tournament pairings will be released Friday. Quarterfinal games will be played on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
